Description

Model: CONVMOF4K

This ?Mini Converter Optical Fiber 4K ?from ?Blackmagic Design ?allows you to convert SD/HD/6G-SDI to optical fiber and optical fiber to SD/HD/6G-SDI simultaneously. It is ideal for Ultra UD broadcast, post production, and professional AV applications that integrate optical fiber cables with professional SDI equipment.

The Mini Converter automatically switches between SD, HD, and Ultra HD video inputs signals and will output signals with matching resolution and frame rates. No DIP switches or software controls are required. Embedded optical fiber and SDI audio is supported and sampled at 48kHz and 24-bit. Included with the converter is a 12V universal power supply.

Optical Fiber Conversion
Bi-directional converter lets you simultaneously convert SDI to optical fiber and optical fiber to SDI.

6G, HD, and SD Format Support
The Mini Converter supports a wide range of video resolutions, including 4K 4096x2160p24 signals, Ultra HD 3840x2160p, 2K 2048x1080p, 1080p, 1080i, 720p, and SD in both NTSC and PAL. SDI and optical fiber inputs automatically detect format, resolution, and frame rate, and the Mini Converter outputs a matching signal.

USB 2.0 Port
Update the device via the USB 2.0 port and Blackmagic Design’s Convert Utility software, which downloads and installs firmware updates directly from their website.

Universal Power Supply & Cable Tie

With 12G-SDI, ?Blackmagic Design's ?ATEM Talkback Converter 4K ?accepts high-resolution video from up to eight studio cameras or ATEM Camera Converters and allows the control room to interact with the camera operators. The 12G-SDI connections can support video with resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 fps and rout those individual signals to a switcher via SDI outputs, to a program monitor via its own SDI output, and back to the camera operator while carrying talkback audio over a single cable. Talkback audio can be captured via a microphone plugged into the XLR jack on the front, or a headset mic plugged into the appropriate jack, also on the front panel. This unit can be upgraded to accept fiber optic connections, which carry, bi-directional 4K video, audio, and talkback for up to 28 miles without signal degradation. And because of its 1 RU size, it can easily fit into industry standard rack-mount equipment and furniture.Optional Optical Fiber ConnectorsThe ATEM Talkback Converter 4K can be upgraded to use standard single mode optical fiber cable with standard LC connectors to allow you to transmit SD and HD video signals up to 28 miles away. Standard copper wire SDI cables have a limit of several hundred feet before the signal breaks up, converting the SDI signal to optical, and sending it along optical cable greatly increases the distance of your cable runs.Talkback and TallyThe unit features a built-in speaker and mic inputs, as well as a headphone jack for when you need privacy, or the area is too loud. When connected to the ATEM Camera Converter without needing to worry about walkie talkies. Using the talkback feature, the unit uses audio channels 15 and 16 of the SDI stream for talkback communication. Camera operators can be selected individually if desired, and communication can be controlled by a push button, or locked open. Mute and un-mute buttons on the front of the unit allow you to control who hears what. The unit passes SDI Tally signal information back to the cameras along with any SDI Program signal from available switchers.Precision Signal ProcessingThe unit features chips that use 10-bit processing, and are switchable between SD and HD, for a clean signal. The unit features eight independent simultaneous SDI to optical and optical to SDI converters (with the optional fiber terminals), when used in conjunction with the ATEM Camera Converter the unit can also be used as four independent SDI or Fiber to HDMI converters. The ?Blackmagic Design PS-OG3 OpenGear Redundant Power Supply Unit ?is designed for use with the OpenGear Converters. The ?Mini Converter SDI Distribution 4K ?from ?Blackmagic Design ?allows you to distribute a Single Link SD/HD/3G/6G-SDI signal to eight SDI devices simultaneously. It automatically detects the input signal type, re-clocks it, and its eight outputs automatically match the SDI input video format. With a compact form factor and easy-to-use controls, the Mini Converter is ideal for a variety of broadcast, post production, and professional AV applications.Using 6G-SDI technology, the Mini Converter supports resolutions up to Ultra HD 4K (3840 x 2160) at up to 30 fps and DCI 4K (4096 x 2160) at 24 fps, as well as SD, HD, and 3G-SDI signals. It supports all SDI-related transmission features, including embedded audio, ancillary data, and even handles ASI signals - asynchronous signals that carry multiple compressed programs that can be at varying transmission speeds. The Mini Converter's settings are controlled using the built-in DIP switches or via USB using the included software for Max OS X or Windows computers. The USB port also enables the firmware to be updated. For powering the device, a 12V power supply is included with international socket adapters.Additional Features
  • 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 sampling and color precision
  • 24-bit, 48 kHz audio sampling
  • Compliant with SMPTE 259M, SMPTE 292M, SMPTE 296M, SMPTE 372M, and SMPTE 425M standards
